HOW TO PLAY
Each Ikoni Word Search puzzle contains 9 words or phrases. The game is won once you locate all 9 puzzle words.
Chill Mode
Chill Mode has no time restriction. You can take as much time as you need to locate the 9 puzzle words.
Challenge Mode
Challenge Mode has a time restriction. You must locate all 9 words before the timer counts down to 0, otherwise the game will count as a loss.
There are 2 Challenge Mode varieties. The first version provides you a total time to locate all the words. For example 2 minutes to find all 9 words.
The second variety provides you with a time per word, for example 18 seconds to find the first word. Note, the time allotted decreases by 1 second for each subsequent word. For example, the game would allot 17 seconds for the second word, 16 seconds third word and so on.
Challenge Mode is unlocked after you have successfully won 10 Chill Mode games.
Scoring
Game scoring is weighted based on time, the quicker you locate a word the more points you earn. The table below displays the points earned/word relative to time. You will also receive bonus points based on how quickly you solve the puzzle, see below.
- +400 Points – Less Than 10 Seconds
- +350 Points – Less Than 15 Seconds
- +300 Points – Less Than 20 Seconds
- +250 Points – Less Than 25 Seconds
- +200 Points – Less Than 30 Seconds
- +175 Points – Less Than 35 Seconds
- +160 Points – Less Than 40 Seconds
- +150 Points – Less Than 45 Seconds
- +130 Points – Less Than 50 Seconds
- +100 Points – Less Than 60 Seconds
- +75 Points – Less Than 75 Seconds
- +50 Points – Less Than 90 Seconds
- +25 Points – Greater Than 90 Seconds
You will also receive bonus points based on how quickly you sole the word search puzzle, see below:
Bonus Timer
At the start of each Challenge Mode game you can tap the timer icon to increase the allotted time for you to solve the puzzle.
Bonus Snowflake
During each Challenge Mode game you can tap the snowflake icon at the top to freeze the timer for 10 seconds.
As you win and progress through the game there will be opportunities to earn additional timer an snowflake bonuses.
