SCORING

There are numerous ways to score points in Soul Jam. As with all games it is vital to score as many points as you can. The more points you earn the more bonuses you can exchange for at the end when you level up.

Points are scored when a word is successfully submitted, when all the letters are used, via Jam Sprees and Mini Jams, etc. It is also important to note that scoring awards vary by game mode with the Easy game mode offering the least amount of points and the Genius game mode offering the most amount of points.

All Letter Bonus

The All Letter Bonus is applied when the player uses all the solution letters in the game. For example, suppose the player is provided the following letters: ‘B’, ‘A’, ‘T’, ‘R’ and ‘C’. If the puzzle requires four 3-letter words the player could submit the following solution words: car, tar, cat and art. In this case since the player did not use the letter ‘B’ they would not receive the All Letter Bonus at the game’s conclusion.

Repeat Words

Soul Jam tracks recently submitted solutions words. There is a small penalty for using recent words. For example if the player submits the word ‘soul‘ in game 1 and then again in game 3 there would be a small decrement to the player’s score. The amount of the decrement depends on the word’s size and game mode.

Word Score

The points earned per word is based on a number of factors. These include the game mode, the size of the word and the letters in the word. Players should note that special letters ‘Z’, ‘Q’ and ‘X’ have a bonus and can significantly boost your word score. Additionally, letters ‘J’, ‘K’ and ‘V’ also apply a (smaller) bonus to the word score. Players should not that vowels have little impact on the word score.

Unique Letters

Unique letters in a word contribute more to a player’s word score than duplicate letters do. For example, the player has the following solution letters: ‘E’, ‘L’, ‘P’ and ‘A’. The solution word leap would earn more points than the word peel because the peel utilizes the letter ‘e’ twice.

Undo Letter

There is a small penalty applied when a player undos a letter. The scoring penalty varies by game level.

In the above we do not share exact point amounts for each letter, word length or how each varies by game level. Those factors are a part of Soul Jam’s secret sauce. We recommend players to strategize to always use as many letters as they can while submitting the most unique words they can think of. This general strategy should net a player the highest possible scores during game play.
